Betrayal

“And then many will fall away and betray one another and hate one another." Matthew 24:10

Christianity is at odds with society, and that can include our family, that is focussed on self, rather than God and looking after our neighbour. We don't do a great job of showing God's love so it's not a big step for them to betray us, either in their manner or, when the authorities are against us, to turn us over even for persecution. However Matthew 24:10 speaks of when people we may have trusted in our church, who have not truly committed to Jesus, turn against us.

Matthew 13:3-9

“A sower went out to sow. And as he sowed, some seeds fell along the path, and the birds came and devoured them. Other seeds fell on rocky ground, where they did not have much soil, and immediately they sprang up, since they had no depth of soil, but when the sun rose they were scorched. And since they had no root, they withered away. Other seeds fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up and choked them. Other seeds fell on good soil and produced grain, some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty. He who has ears,[a] let him hear.”
